17th International Congress in Agricultural Medicine and Rural Health

The 17th International Congress in Agricultural Medicine and Rural Health: “From Theory to Practice: Occupational Health and Safety for Rural Populations” will take place in Cartagena de India, DT, Colombia from October 13th to 16th, 2009.

This congress is co-organized by the International Association of Agricultural Medicine and Rural Health IAAMRH and the Scientific Committee on Rural Health of the International Commission on Occupational Health ICOH. Local support is given ICOH National Secretariat, the Agriculture University of Colombia Foundation, El Bosque University, the Colombian government and several national institutions.
The topics list that has been chosen will be framed under the following main-stream topics:
1) Social determinants of rural health
2) Work hazards and risks in agriculture
3) Environmental and climatic factors
4) Health service provision in rural areas
5) Health education for rural populations
6) H&S for Vulnerable rural populations
7) Regional approaches of H & S in the agro
We are calling all Colombian, Latin American and international institutions and organizations interested and acting in the fields of Agricultural Medicine and Rural Health, and occupational and environmental health, as well as rural grassroots, farmer and union organizations. We want this Congress to be the product of the joint effort of all of you who decide to join us.
